Postage Stamps

So, I needed some postage stamps, and thought I would save Andrew the trouble of an additional errand and order them online. I decided to get a roll of 100 and there was a flat fee of $1.00 shipping, which sounded reasonable to me, so I placed the order. The stamps arrived, however a couple things about the experience struck me as kind of funny...

  • ...why should it take 3 days to get postage stamps when I get mail every day except Sundays? Seems to me that when you place the order, your local post office should be notified and the next day the mail carrier can bring the stamps to you.
Then I found out why it takes three days...

  • ...the stamps arrived nicely in a large white envelope...that had been shipped from MISSOURI! Seriously???!!!...there has got to be a more efficient way than that.
Anyway, I am glad that the stamps arrived. It really was a fine experience...just a little bit odd.
